Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit are releasing a photo of a gunman responsible for the death of a man in unincorporated Central Broward on Nov. 20, 2021. BSO detectives are seeking the public’s assistance for information that could lead to the gunman’s capture. The incident took place around 12:40 a.m. that Saturday near the 600 block of Northwest 27th Avenue. According to investigators, the alert came in as a Shotspotter notification. BSO deputies arrived at the location and found Maurice Moss suffering from a gunshot wound. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue also arrived. Paramedics transported Moss to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. The BSO Violent Crimes Unit detectives initiated their investigation. On Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, Moss was declared deceased. BSO Homicide detectives were informed and assumed control of the investigation. BSO Homicide detectives have continued their inquiry for nearly three years. Investigators are now releasing a photo of the gunman, hoping to receive new information that can lead to an arrest. Detectives characterized the gunman as an adult male, who wore a blue long-sleeved jacket or sweater. The jacket featured white stripes on the sleeves. The suspect had on light blue pants, black shoes, blue gloves, and possibly a mask. Anyone with details about this fatal shooting is encouraged to contact BSO Homicide Det.
