Multiple incidents involving two individuals, Zeffery Lundy and Micah Jackson, have led to their arrest after a series of burglaries targeting businesses in Broward and Palm Beach counties. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Burglary Apprehension Team (B.A.T.), along with detectives from BSO Deerfield Beach District and other law enforcement agencies, played a crucial role in the investigation. The suspects allegedly targeted eight Dunkin’ Donuts outlets and a Mobile gas station, breaking in while the establishments were closed to steal money. A key detail identified during the investigation was that one of the culprits wore a distinctive white hooded sweatshirt paired with black bottomed blue jeans. Surveillance conducted on a white 2018 Chevrolet Equinox on June 22 revealed its involvement in these crimes when it was observed parked near a closed Dunkin’ Donuts on Federal Highway in Dania Beach.
Detectives observed a person matching the clothing description from previous burglary incidents exiting Dunkin’ Donuts with a cash register. They kept watch as the individual got back into a vehicle and followed it to a Chevron Gas Station on Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderdale Lakes. The detectives then used a tactic to stop the vehicle and apprehended two suspects.
Lundy was taken into custody for various charges including burglary, theft, criminal mischief, attempted conspiracy and possession of burglary tools. Additionally, there was an existing warrant for Lundy’s arrest in Louisiana related to burglary offenses. Jackson, who was driving the vehicle, was arrested for similar charges along with driving with a suspended license.
Further charges are anticipated.
