Authorities from Broward Sheriffs Office Traffic Homicide Unit are looking into an accident that occurred between a vehicle and a pedestrian during Monday afternoon hours of December 30th in Tamarac area near West McNab Road and University Drive intersection as reported by BSO deputies who promptly arrived at the scene along with Tamarac Fire Rescue to aid in responding to this incident. Initial inquiries suggest that Katherine Campbell had recently alighted from a Broward County Transit bus and was making her way northward, across West McNab Road when this unfortunate incident took place. Jennifer Grote was driving a 2010 GMC Arcadia eastbound on West McNab Road when the vehicle approached the 6900 block, near University Drive.A tragic incident occurred as Campbell attempted to cross West McNab Road in front of the moving vehicle and was struck by the passenger side before it came to a halt.Tamarac Fire Rescue swiftly took Campbell to Broward Health Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased. Investigators stated that Campbell was hit in an area without a designated pedestrian crossing while the eastbound traffic signal was green at the time of the incident.There were no signs of the driver speeding or being impaired. These factors are not believed to have played a role in the accident.The inquiry, into the crash is ongoing.
