LIGHTHOUSE POINT, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A motorcyclist was killed in a late-night crash Sunday along North Federal Highway in Lighthouse Point, authorities said.

The fatal collision occurred just before 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the 4800 block of North Federal Highway. Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigation unit are investigating the crash, which involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck.

Investigators say a 2002 Ford Ranger, driven by 24-year-old Steven Evanosky of Deerfield Beach, was exiting the McDonald’s parking lot and making a right turn to travel northbound on North Federal Highway. At the same time, Daniel West, 23, was riding a 2010 BMW S1000RR northbound on North Federal Highway when the motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the Ford Ranger.

West was ejected from the motorcycle and came to a final rest in the rear truck bed of the Ford, investigators said.

Lighthouse Point Fire Rescue pronounced West deceased at the scene. Evanosky did not report any injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
