Julie Cruz and her three sons were tragically. Killed in Pembroke Park one Wednesday evening; currently hospitalized are Cruzs daughter and Stephen McKenzie. Who is believed to be the shooter. With Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit overseeing investigations into this heartbreaking incident reported at 3181 W Hallandale Beach Blvd around 7;36 p.m. March 26th as, per Broward County Regional Communications. The Pembroke Park Police Department (PPPD) Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) and Hallandale Beach Police Department (HBPD) all arrived at the scene in response to the incident report. Upon arrival, at the scene of the incident PPPD officers discovered six individuals who had been shot within the residence. Unfortunately Cruz and three of her four children were found deceased as a result of the shooting. Additionally PPPD officers identified the suspected shooter who appeared to have inflicted a self inflicted gunshot wound. Furthermore investigators also found Cruz’s daughter suffering from gunshot wounds. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue promptly. Took McKenzie and Cruzs daughter to nearby hospitals for medical care upon receiving the call from the Pembroke Park Police Department for assistance in handling the situation following the tragic shooting incident that occurred. The BSO Homicide Unit detectives have been assigned to lead the investigation into the circumstances of the shooting with seriousness and are currently working diligently to uncover all relevant details surrounding this unfortunate event. During their investigation process it was discovered that Cruz and McKenzie had two sons together named Nova and Emery McKenzie who’re no longer alive; whereas Cruzs son Xiom Solomon and daughter Phinny Solomon have a different biological father from McKenzie. Stephen McKenzie is currently under custody, at the hospital awaiting legal proceedings as charges are being evaluated by law enforcement authorities.
