The Broward Sheriff’s Office is the hosting agency for the 2025 National Sheriffs’ Association Annual Conference. This media advisory is being sent on behalf of the NSA.

The following information is embargoed until noon Monday, June 23.

Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the National Sheriffs’ Association Opening General Session, which will include a conversation with FBI Director Kash Patel and sheriffs from across the nation. The session will address pressing issues facing law enforcement.

The event will also include an honorary multiagency swearing in ceremony for Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel. DJ, a courageous young man battling terminal cancer, has set a goal of being sworn in by as many law enforcement agencies as possible, and he will be sworn in by over 275 sheriffs from across the country.

Media planning to attend the opening session must R.S.V.P. to [email protected] by 4 p.m. Friday, June 20. You must be pre-registered.

On Monday, June 23, media will need to be in place and setup at the Broward County Convention Center no later than 2:40 p.m. Be sure to give yourself extra time to park and pick up your credentials at the registration desk before the opening session begins at 3 p.m.
