Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance regarding a shooting incident in West Park. They are looking to identify and locate an individual who fired shots into a group of young people engaged in a fight. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.

On the night of April 12, at around 10 p.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to reports of a shooting at Mary Saunders Park on 4750 S.W. 21st Street. Upon arrival, emergency responders found a young female with multiple gunshot wounds and an adult male with one gunshot wound. Both victims were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood for treatment of their non life threatening injuries.

Investigations reveal that the incident took place during a planned altercation involving students from the same high school. Detectives believe it stemmed from an ongoing dispute originating at the school.

Video footage shows a blue sedan entering the Mary Saunders Park parking lot, with a female exiting from the passenger side after parking the vehicle.

A short while later, a group of young people gathered, triggering a confrontation. Amid the scuffle, an unidentified individual—presumed to be male—emerged from the driver’s side of the blue car with a rifle and discharged several shots into the group of minors. The shooter and an accomplice then swiftly returned to their vehicle and fled from the location. Authorities mentioned that the shooting was also broadcasted live on social media platforms. Investigators urge anyone with details about the incident to reach out to BSO Violent Crimes Detective Allison Craven Swan at 954 321 4384 or provide information via the SaferWatch App.

For those who prefer anonymity, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954 493 TIPS (8477), visit browardcrimestoppers.org online or dial **TIPS (8477) from any U.S. Cellphone. Remember, any valuable information leading to an arrest may qualify for a reward of up to $5,000.
