Detectives from the Traffic Homicide Unit of the Broward Sheriff’s Office are looking into an accident involving a young man in Tamarac that occurred early Sunday morning around 9;10 a.m. January 19th near the 6800 block of Southgate Boulevard in Tamarac when a call reporting the incident came through to Broward County Regional Communications center which led to the response of deputies from Broward Sheriff’s Office Tamarac District and Tamarac Fire Rescue teams who found a single car crash upon arrival, at the scene. Authorities declared the driver identified as Mattias Jesus Argeulles dead at the accident site and traffic investigators from BSO were called in for examination of the incident details. Initial findings suggest that Argeulles was behind the wheel of a 1990 Volvo 740 heading west on Southgate Boulevard when he lost control while navigating a curve. Reports state that Argeulles made a correction that led to the vehicle spinning sideways and sliding in a westbound direction until it collided with a concrete utility pole before coming to a stop. The investigation, into the matter is ongoing.
