Deputies from Broward Sheriff’s Office are looking into a collision involving three vehicles that happened in Pompano Beach last Friday evening – January 31st around 5;26 pm to be precise! First responders from BSO and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue rushed to a spot, near 1300 block of South Ocean Drive following reports of a crash involving Julius Clark behind the wheel of a 2024 Mercedes Benz C450 heading northbound along North Ocean Boulevard – possibly involved in an unauthorized race at that time. While driving down South Ocean Boulevard in a 2021 Nissan Versa was the driver when Ross Parker followed closely in a 2020 Audi Q3 as, per detectives findings indicate it was the scenario unfolding behind a Mercedes driven by Clark who began changing lanes amidst traffic before heading into the center divider lane at high speed where he suddenly faced a stationary cement truck. In an effort to avoid the truck in his path while driving down the road and swerved left of right causing him to travel in the opposite direction lane where he collided head on with a Nissan vehicle coming from the opposite direction of traffic flow.Such was the impact of the collision between his Mercedes and the Nissan that it resulted in a push back effect on the Nissan which then hit an Audi being driven by Parker.Paramedics rushed to the scene. Transported both the Nissan driver and Parker to Broward Health North for medical treatment.The unfortunate outcome, for the Nissan driver was apparent as he was pronounced deceased at the hospital following the crash while Parker was fortunate enough to be treated and released promptly.From what investigators have gathered far the investigative process remains ongoing.
