BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Pembroke Park police and Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are working a fatal hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist late Monday night on Hallandale Beach Boulevard.

Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit said the crash happened at about 9:50 p.m. Monday, April 27, near the 4800 block of Hallandale Beach Boulevard in Pembroke Park.

Investigators said the bicyclist was traveling eastbound in the right thru lane when a 2023 black Cadillac Escalade rear-ended the bicycle. The driver then fled the scene, according to BSO.

Paramedics pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene. BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit was requested to investigate.

During the investigation, detectives identified and located the Escalade, BSO said. The agency did not release the bicyclist’s identity or any information about the driver.

BSO is asking anyone with information about the crash or the driver to contact BSO Traffic Homicide Detective Jose Guzman at 954-321-4888. Tips can also be submitted through the SaferWatch app.

For people who want to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward, BSO said to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), go to browardcrimestoppers.org, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States.

What happens next is the traffic homicide investigation. Detectives will continue gathering information about what happened in the moments before and after the collision, and they are still asking the public for help.

For residents in Boca Raton and across South Florida, the key detail is the location and direction of travel: the bicyclist was in the eastbound right thru lane on Hallandale Beach Boulevard when the collision happened, and investigators say the vehicle involved was a 2023 black Cadillac Escalade. Anyone who saw the crash, saw the SUV leaving, or has video or other information is being asked to contact BSO or Crime Stoppers.
