After a woman was shot in a road rage incident on Interstate 595 Friday night and sustained injuries to her head Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) detectives are asking for help from the public to find the shooter responsible, for this act. The incident took place around 7;51 pm near Hiatus Road as reported by Davie Police with Davie Fire Rescue providing assistance at the scene.The Florida Highway Patrol also arrived on the scene. Asked for help from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, whose Vehicular Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit assumed control of the inquiry. Initial findings indicate that Rondrica Davis was riding as a passenger, in a Ford Escape moving westbound on Interstate 595 in the left lane when a black pickup truck sped up from behind at a high speed. The person behind the wheel of the Escape tried to give way to the truck driver to overtake them. Ended up being cut off by the truck instead. Upon slowing down and abruptly stopping in front of the Escape car the truck driver moved to the left of the Escape. Fired a gunshot, at it resultingly hitting Davis. After the shooting incident the truck driver swiftly sped away in the direction. Davis was taken by paramedics to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Later discharged from the hospital.
