BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — Detectives from the Broward Sheriffs Office Homicide Unit have apprehended a suspect in connection with the shooting of a teenager on Monday evening, in Wilton Manors.

At 2;30 p.m on Monday September 16th law enforcement officers from Wilton Manors Police Department, Fort Lauderdale Police Department, and Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue were dispatched to respond to a report of a shooting incident at a residential complex in Northwest 25th Streets 400 block. Upon their arrival at the scene they found one individual who had been shot. The victim, known as Christopher Granados was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Policy say the shooting incident was limited to that residence and did not pose any danger to the surrounding community.

Upon receiving the call to take charge of the death investigation in Wilton Manors city by Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide and crime scene detectives conducted interviews with eyewitnesses present, at the scene of the incident when a gun accidentally went off while the victim and a 16 year old were handling firearms and tragically struck Granados. On Monday night a teenager aged 16 was taken into custody. Is charged with one count of manslaughter involving a firearm.
