BOYNTON BEACH, FL — A 14-year-old Boynton Beach boy was killed Friday night while crossing North Congress Avenue, according to Boynton Beach Police.
Christopher Cetoute, of Boynton Beach, died after he was struck just before 9 p.m. Friday, June 12, near the 4600 block of North Congress Avenue, police said.
According to Boynton Beach Police, the preliminary investigation found that Cetoute was crossing the roadway in an eastbound direction when he was hit by a BMW M4 traveling southbound.
Police identified the driver as 35-year-old Michael Scott Bates, of Lake Worth. The department said the BMW appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed.
Boynton Beach Fire Rescue pronounced Cetoute dead at the scene, according to police.
Police said all individuals involved remained on scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
No charges were announced in the information provided by Boynton Beach Police.
