BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A 90-year-old woman died after she was struck by a Jeep inside Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton on Thursday afternoon, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
PBSO says the crash happened around 1:09 p.m. on May 14, 2026, on Planters Point Drive. Investigators identified the pedestrian as Sandra Sparber Friedman, 90, and the driver as Harriet Rosenberger, 83.
According to investigators, Rosenberger was driving a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee around a left-hand curve near Friedman’s residence when Friedman stepped from her driveway into the roadway. The front right of the Jeep struck Friedman.
Friedman was knocked to the ground and complained of hip pain after the crash, according to PBSO. She was taken to Delray Medical Center for treatment.
PBSO says Friedman was later pronounced deceased. The fatality time was listed as 14:35.
Rosenberger was not injured, according to the report. PBSO did not list alcohol or drugs as a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.
