BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton Police issued a traffic advisory Tuesday night reporting lane closures at a central Boca Raton intersection because of an accident.

In an alert sent at 7:13 p.m. Tuesday, Boca Raton Police said the westbound and northbound lanes at West Camino Real and Southwest 4th Avenue are closed due to an accident. The department urged drivers to seek an alternate route.

The advisory did not include details on injuries, the number of vehicles involved, or how long the closures are expected to last.

The intersection sits on a key east-west corridor used by Boca Raton commuters and local traffic moving through Palm Beach County, and closures there can quickly back up surrounding streets during the evening hours.

Boca Raton Police is the agency issuing the advisory and directing drivers away from the closed lanes. Residents and drivers should plan for delays in the area and follow posted detours or officer directions if they are in the vicinity.

What happens next will depend on when the accident scene is cleared and the lanes can be reopened. For now, the department’s guidance is to avoid the intersection and use an alternate route until further notice.

Drivers heading through the area should watch for changing traffic patterns near West Camino Real and Southwest 4th Avenue and allow extra time if they need to travel nearby.
