BOCA RATON, FL — State inspectors temporarily closed two restaurants in Palm Beach and Broward counties during the week ending June 14, with records citing pest activity at both locations.
The local emergency closures were part of a broader week of restaurant inspection activity across South Florida. According to Florida DBPR inspection data, inspectors conducted 203 inspections in Palm Beach and Broward counties during the same June 8-14 reporting cycle.
The closure records cited rodent activity, roach activity and fly activity at the two local restaurants.
Emergency Closures: Palm Beach & Broward
Inspectors temporarily closed Belle Cuisine Caribbean Restaurant LLC in Fort Lauderdale on June 8 after reporting rodent activity, state records show. The Broward County restaurant, listed at 1952 NW 9th Ave., was approved to reopen June 9 at 8:54 a.m.
In Lake Worth, inspectors temporarily closed Yens Kitchen on June 9 after reporting roach and fly activity. The Palm Beach County restaurant, listed at 7364 Lake Worth Road, was approved to reopen June 10 at 3:27 p.m., according to the emergency closure file.
An emergency closure is not a disciplinary action. It is a temporary step used when inspectors report conditions such as pest infestation, sewage problems, lack of hot water, utility issues, fire damage or refrigeration problems. A business remains closed until the conditions are corrected and state records show it has been approved to reopen.

Those included closures tied to roach activity in Jacksonville and Miami Beach, rodent and fly activity in Tarpon Springs and Jacksonville, no potable water in Fort Myers, and no handwashing sink in Orange City.
