BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Northbound lanes at the intersection of Military Trail and Banyan Road were closed Monday morning due to an accident, according to a traffic advisory from the Boca Raton Police Department.

The advisory, sent at 8:31 a.m. Monday, said the “NB lanes of Military/Banyan are closed due to an accident” and urged drivers to seek an alternate route.

The closure affects a major north-south corridor in Boca Raton that many residents use to move through central Palm Beach County. With the northbound lanes shut down at the intersection, drivers should expect delays in the area and plan for detours.

Boca Raton Police Department is the agency issuing the advisory and directing the public to avoid the area. The notice did not include details on injuries, the number of vehicles involved, or how long the closure is expected to last.

What happens next will depend on the on-scene response and when the roadway can be reopened. Residents and commuters who travel Military Trail through Boca Raton should watch for updated traffic advisories and be prepared to reroute until the northbound lanes reopen.

Drivers are being asked to use an alternate route while the closure remains in place.
