Man Accused Of Selling Drugs Near Boca Raton Smoke Shop – Nathanial Banks

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A Coconut Creek man is facing several serious charges, including Marijuana Possession w/ Intent To Sell, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Nathanial Banks, 21, of Coconut Creek, has been arrested Wednesday evening by the Boca Raton Police Department. The arrest comes after a manager from the same plaza as “The Hook Up”,  a local smoke shop on 20th street, called the police to report what they believed to be drug activity in the parking lot of their smoke shop. The manager told dispatch that a man was stopping his customers and trying to sell them narcotics.

When officers arrived, the reported vehicle, a white Chrysler, pulled out of the plaza and headed east on 20th. Officers report that they pulled the vehicle over when they observed the taillights not activating. During the traffic stop, officers could observe narcotics in the front passenger seat in plain view. Once Banks was told he wasn’t free to leave, he ran.

Another officer saw Banks jump into a white Nissan near 200 15th Terrace. That vehicle was then pulled over nearby where officers found Banks trying to hide in the backseat.

A search of Banks’ vehicle provided a lot of empty baggies, a scale, pre-packaged cannabis gummies, many pre-packaged baggies of a “green leafy substance”, and several credit cards listed in other people’s names.

Officers checked with some of the credit cards and determined there were charges on them that were not authorized.

When asked about the narcotics, Banks says it was all for personal use. Banks told police “I smoke a lot of weed.”

Banks was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 3:48 on Thursday morning. Court records indicate Banks has been released on an $11,000 bond. Banks was charged with the following:

  • LARC – POSS RECEIVE RETAIN STOLEN CREDIT DEBIT CARD
  • MARIJUANA-POSSESS – WITH INTENT TO SELL MFG OR DELIVER SCHEDULE I
  • DRUG EQUIP-POSSESS – AND OR USE
  • RESIST OFFICER – OBSTRUCT WO VIOLENCE
