BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton stays mostly sunny and mild today, but a high rip current risk remains in effect through Thursday morning ahead of a breezy cold front.

Today’s Weather - Wednesday, February 4, 2026

Boca Raton wakes up to a quiet weather day, the kind that looks easy on the radar but still comes with one big headline at the shoreline. Skies trend mostly sunny through the day with a high near 72 degrees, and winds start light before turning southeast around 5 to 7 mph by morning.

If you are heading out along A1A, the Intracoastal, or cutting across town on Glades Road or Palmetto Park Road, it should feel comfortable for early February. Inland neighborhoods along the I 95 corridor and into the western suburbs stay dry with plenty of sun.

The bigger concern is at the waterline. A Rip Current Statement is posted for coastal Palm Beach County, and the forecast discussion notes lingering swell is keeping rip currents elevated for the Palm Beaches today. Even with calmer looking conditions, rip currents can still be dangerous, and the risk level matters more than what it looks like from the sand.

Tonight stays mostly clear with a low around 56. Winds turn south near 6 mph, then shift west after midnight. The broader South Florida forecast discussion also mentions patchy fog could develop over interior areas early, but for Boca and the coastal metro the main story is clear skies and a mild night.

B. Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

A High Rip Current Risk remains in effect for coastal Palm Beach County through Thursday morning, according to a Rip Current Statement issued by the National Weather Service in Miami.

The statement warns of dangerous rip currents and notes they can sweep even strong swimmers away from shore into deeper water. The advisory urges inexperienced swimmers to stay out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, and recommends swimming near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, the guidance is to relax and float, do not swim against the current, and if able swim parallel to the shore until free.

C. 7 Day Outlook

Today (Wed): Mostly sunny and mild. High near 72, light winds becoming southeast 5 to 7 mph. Beach conditions remain hazardous due to the high rip current risk.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Low around 56. South wind near 6 mph becoming west after midnight.

Thursday: A cold front moves through with changing skies and a breezier feel. Forecast calls for a 40 percent chance of showers with increasing clouds and a high near 71. Winds turn west 7 to 17 mph with gusts up to 26 mph. The larger forecast discussion suggests the better shot at measurable rainfall is closer to the lake region and southwest Florida, but Boca still carries that chance as the front crosses later in the day.

Thursday Night: Skies clear back out, but cooler air arrives fast. Low around 44. Northwest wind 16 to 20 mph with gusts up to 28 mph.

Friday: Sunshine returns, but it is the coolest daytime stretch of the week. High near 65 with a northwest wind around 14 mph and gusts up to 21 mph. The forecast discussion calls Friday the coldest day of the week for South Florida after the front passes.

Friday Night: Clear and chilly. Low around 49. West wind 11 to 14 mph with gusts up to 21 mph.

Saturday: Sunny with a rebound in temperatures. High near 72. Northwest wind around 11 mph with gusts up to 18 mph. Marine conditions remain rough beyond the beach as winds and seas stay elevated in the wake of the front.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear. Low around 56. North wind around 9 mph.

Sunday: Sunny. High near 73. North wind around 9 mph turning east in the afternoon. A steady warming trend continues into early next week.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear. Low around 56.

Monday: Sunny and warmer. High near 75.

Monday Night: Mostly clear. Low around 57.

Tuesday: Sunny. High near 75.

Marine and boating notes: The marine forecast calls for seas 2 to 4 feet today in the Atlantic waters off Boca with occasional 5 foot sets, then worsening conditions Thursday as the front arrives. Winds and seas ramp up hard Thursday into Thursday night, with rough intracoastal conditions in exposed areas and offshore seas building significantly, then staying elevated into the weekend.
