BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — David Beall of the Boca Woods community in Boca Raton has been arrested and charged with several felonies after an incident involving several other residents in the gated community.

According to an arrest affidavit submitted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Boca Woods community at approximately 6:20 PM on February 23rd, 2023 in reference to a battery with a weapon that may have occurred.

While on the scene, deputies spoke to a 68-year-old man who says that he was at a board meeting when David Beall walked in with a drink in his hand and started arguing with multiple people. The 68-year-old victim said that he got into an altercation with Beall after the meeting. The victim said that Beall smacked him, causing his glasses to fall off. The victim said he picked up his glasses and when he stood back up, Beall had a firearm pointed at him. The victim said he left and called 9-1-1 as soon as he had a chance.

A witness told deputies that Beall was speaking with him and when they saw the victim, Beall called him over, saying “I have something for you”. When the victim approached, Beall got in his face and slapped him. Shortly after that, the witness, a retired law enforcement lieutenant, says he saw Beall pull out a Glock and point at the victim.

Deputies then called Beall and asked him to come to speak with them. Beall met up with deputies and told them that the victim was “giving him a bunch of shit” so he “jawed him”. Beall noted that the victim “girl fell” to the floor after Beall hit him. Beall denied pulling a firearm on the man and later admitted that he is a felon and was not allowed to own a firearm. At some point, Beall told deputies that he has a fake gun that looks like a shotgun at his home. Once Beall became uncooperative in the interview, deputies arrested him.

David Beall was arrested and charged with the following:

  • WEAPON OFFENSE – IMPROPER EXHIBIT FIREARM OR DANGEROUS WEAPON
  • AGGRAV ASSLT – WEAPON – W DEADLY WEAPON WITHOUT INTENT TO KILL
  • WEAPON OFFENSE – USE DISPLAY ETC FIREARM DURING FELONY
