BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A heated argument turned violent and a couple from Boca Raton’s Century Village community ended up in jail on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023.

PBSO deputies responded to the century village community in reference to a domestic disturbance/stabbing call late on Wednesday evening. Responding deputies say that they met with a woman, identified as 67-year-old Zenaida Ramos, at the door. Deputies say that Ramos was calm but noted that they could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Deputies immediately handcuffed her while they conducted their investigation.

Deputies then entered the unit in Fanshaw E where they found the woman’s 46-year-old husband, Edinelson Dos Santos, sitting on the couch with obvious stab and cut wounds on his arm. “She stabbed me”, he told deputies.

Dos Santos told deputies that the two got into an argument when he picked her up from work because she was not answering the phone. He claims that the argument continued and escalated when they got home. Dos Santos said that eventually, he pushed his wife to the ground and held her arms telling her she needed to stop. He then told her “I am done with you.”

That is when Zenaida allegedly went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and stabbed him 2-3 times in the left arm while he was sitting on the couch. Deputies say that they observed a large amount of blood on the left armrest of the couch where Edinelson was sitting. Zenaida then reportedly left the knife next to Edinelson and went to the bedroom, leaving the door open.

Deputies note that Zenaida sounded calm when she called 9-1-1 and reported the incident to the call taker.

Zenaida Ramos was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Edinelson was arrested and charged with (domestic) battery on a 65-year-old (or older).
