BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton will be sunny and warm today with a high near 83 to 84 degrees. Most neighborhoods stay dry, but a few showers or thunderstorms could pop up this afternoon, mainly inland, with brief heavy rain and gusty winds possible in the strongest cell. Winds are light this morning, then turn more northeast later today and tonight. Tonight stays partly cloudy and mild near 73, with a breezier northeast wind and building surf heading into Tuesday

South Florida is in the middle of a transition day, and that’s the main story for Boca Raton. The National Weather Service notes a weakening cold front is sliding through the region today while the broader weather pattern aloft (the steering winds several miles up) slowly shifts east.

In plain terms: the “push” of the front is fading, but it can still act like a trigger for a few afternoon storms. For Boca Raton and the immediate east coast, the best part of the day is the morning and early afternoon, when sunshine should dominate and temperatures climb into the low-to-mid 80s.

Winds stay fairly light early, driven by local sea breezes, then trend more northeasterly later in the day as the front slips south. Storm coverage today is expected to be lower than Sunday, because drier air is working in above the surface.

Even so, the atmosphere can still briefly “bubble up” during peak heating. The highest odds for storms are inland and toward Southwest Florida where sea-breeze boundaries collide, but Boca could still see a stray shower or rumble of thunder.

For Boca Raton-area waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), winds are light this morning, then turn northerly this afternoon and northeast tonight as the front passes. Seas run about 2 to 3 feet today, then build tonight into Tuesday as a northeast swell develops—expect 3 to 5 feet late tonight and 4 to 6 feet Tuesday, with occasional higher sets offshore.

Boaters should plan for choppier intracoastal conditions tonight and Tuesday. Beach conditions also trend rougher: the forecast calls for a moderate rip current risk in Palm Beach County today as onshore flow and swell increase.
