Boca Raton to host free international soccer watch party at Mizner Park Amphitheater

The City of Boca Raton will screen an international soccer quarterfinal on the big screen at Mizner Park Amphitheater on Saturday, July 11, as part of the free Summer in the City series.

Boca Raton to host free international soccer watch party at Mizner Park Amphitheater

BOCA RATON, FL — The city is opening the Mizner Park Amphitheater lawn Saturday for a free international soccer quarterfinal watch party, complete with a big screen, a beer garden, and oversized inflatable soccer games.

The Goals & Good Times Watch Party is the next stop in the City of Boca Raton's Summer in the City series, a free concert and event lineup at the downtown amphitheater, as previously reported. According to the city, doors open at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 11, and the livestream begins at 5 p.m.

Admission is free.

The city says the match will be shown on the amphitheater's big screen. Programming around the game includes a live DJ, LED Fuji Sound, a vintage jersey shop, a custom hat bar, a beer garden, and international food, all available for purchase. Soccer open play and oversized inflatable soccer games are also planned. Attendees are asked to bring their own ball for open play, according to the city.

Lawn seating is first come, first served. Attendees can bring blankets and chairs, or rent a chair at the venue for $5, cash only, according to the city.

Outside food, drinks, and pets are not permitted. One unopened bottle of water per person is allowed. The city says the event is rain or shine.

Free parking is available at City Hall and the Boca Raton Library. The city is also encouraging attendees to walk, bike, or carpool.

The Watch Party is one stop in a longer summer lineup. According to the city, Summer in the City continues Friday, July 17, with a Bob Marley tribute by Yvad & The Legal Roots; Friday, July 24, with a screening of the "Hamilton" film adaptation tied to the country's 250th anniversary; Friday, July 31, with the Peace of Woodstock Band; and Friday, August 7, with a Battle of the Bands. Doors and start times vary by event. All shows are free and open to the public.
