2021 Hurricane Season Ends – The Boca Post

With 21 named storms the 2021 season was an active one as predicted by NOAA. Of the 21 named storms, storms with winds of 39MPH or higher, 7 of them were hurricanes, 4 of them were considered major hurricanes with winds of 111MPH or higher.

The 2021 season was the 3rd most active season on record in terms of actual named storms. For the first time in history, 2021 is the second of two consecutive hurricane seasons to exhaust the 21 storm name list.

NOAA reports that they deployed 5 new extreme weather sail drones and also flew more than 462 hurricane mission hours in order to capture important hurricane data.
