BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — A woman is facing multiple felony charges after a violent road rage incident on I-95 left a man hospitalized with serious injuries Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) say 26-year-old Breanna Evans, was taken into custody and booked into the Broward County Main Jail. Evans faces two counts of attempted murder, along with charges of shooting into an occupied vehicle and shooting from a vehicle, according to investigators.

BSO said Evans and the victim “are not known to each other,” and that the shooting “appears to be a case of road rage.”

The confrontation was reported just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on the northbound lanes of I-95 between Palmetto Park Road and Hillsboro Boulevard, near the Boca Raton–Deerfield Beach line.

According to investigators, the Florida Highway Patrol first responded and requested assistance from both the Boca Raton Police Department and the Broward Sheriff’s Office. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot and was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

“Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit detectives are on scene conducting a shooting investigation,” the agency said in a statement Wednesday evening. “A subject has been detained and paramedics transported a man to a hospital with serious injuries.”

BSO’s Violent Crimes Unit remains the lead investigative agency. Detectives spent several hours on scene processing evidence as traffic in the area slowed to a crawl.

Authorities say the investigation is still active.
