Calvin Bennett Arrested For Assult, Kidnapping, More

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A man and his girlfriend woke up to a roommate kicking the door down while armed with 3 knives.

According to an arrest affidavit, PBSO responded to the 22000 block of Seaspray Place, located in the Watergate Mobile Home Estates, in response to 9-1-1 calls about a violent incident at 5:55 AM on Thursday, May 18th, 2023.

Deputies say that Calvin Bennett, who lives at the address, was accused of kicking the door of one of the rooms down while armed with 3 knives. The room was occupied by another man and his girlfriend, who say that the noise woke them up. When the two came to, they saw Bennett standing there, with 3 knives in his hands.

The couple says they believe Bennett was having a psychotic episode because he was rubbing his face with his hands while holding the knives. The couple begged Bennett to leave them alone but he refused. The girlfriend armed herself with a firearm and told Bennett to let her leave the residence; however, as she neared the front door, Bennett blocked the entrance. A physical altercation ensued and the couple were eventually able to flee towards Sandalwood Boulevard where they flagged down responding PBSO deputies.

Deputies later arrested Bennett and took him to West Boca Medical Center to be medically cleared. While at the hospital, Bennett fled from deputies. Bennett was able to make it to Central Park Boulevard while deputies pursued him on foot. Bennett then continued to resist the deputies and even tried to remove a deputy’s taser, according to the report.

Bennett was later booked into the PBSO jail for the following charges:
