DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says a 20-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with an April wreck on South Military Trail that left four people dead at the scene.

PBSO tells Boca Post that the driver, 20-year-old Jazmin Marie Shope, has been charged with four counts of vehicular homicide and says she was taken into custody by the Fugitive Warrants Unit on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

The crash happened around 8:57 p.m. on April 21 in the 17900 block of South Military Trail in District 4, an unincorporated area with a Delray Beach address near the entrance to the Polo Club Shops.

According to the traffic investigation, a 2013 Ford Taurus was southbound “at a high rate of speed” in the inner through lane approaching the plaza entrance. A 2017 Genesis G90 was northbound and turning left into the Polo Club Shops when the Ford’s front end struck the Genesis’s passenger side. Both vehicles were forced off the roadway toward the southwest; the Genesis hit a concrete utility pole and stopped, while the Ford came to rest against a shrub line and its engine compartment caught fire. All four occupants in the Genesis were pronounced dead in the vehicle. The Ford’s driver and her passenger were taken to Delray Medical Center with serious injuries.

Investigators identified the Genesis driver as James Lawrence Rose and the passengers as Gerald A. Levy, Thelma Illson Levy and Arlene Rose. Seat belts were documented for the victims.

Deputies identified the Ford’s driver as Jazmin Marie Shope (born 2004) and the passenger as Ethan Ryan Litman. Both were hospitalized with serious injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts, according to deputies.

In the update, PBSO states Shope was located and arrested on four counts of vehicular homicide and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. The April fatal log previously showed charges “pending” while the Traffic Homicide Unit worked the case; the updated entry reflects “arrested.”

The fatal scene is on a busy stretch of South Military Trail where left-turn movements into shopping centers meet fast-moving through traffic after light cycles. PBSO’s narrative focuses on speed and the left turn; it does not cite impairment.

Next steps in the case will appear in court records as prosecutors review the investigation. Boca Post will watch the docket and update this story with any booking or first-appearance details as they are released by PBSO and the courts.
