Carter George, 16, Charged With Manslaughter

JUPITER, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Jupiter teen charged with manslaughter after shooting that left another teen dead.

Jupiter Police and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a shooting in the area of 645 Indiantown Road just before 7 PM on Saturday, July 22nd, 2023.

The first arriving officers located a white F-150 near the median and a young man suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower back near the rear of the truck. Police say the 18-year-old victim was being held by his brother near the rear of the truck.

Shortly after officers first arrived on the scene 16-year-old Carter George, who allegedly fled the scene, returned and was apprehended by officers as they suspected he was the shooter.

The victim was transported to Saint Mary’s hospital, the closest trauma center, where he later died.

Detectives interviewed the victim’s brother and another passenger say that the group was returning from the Lake Worth area where Carter George was hoping to purchase drugs, prior to the shooting. Carter George was reportedly “heavily intoxicated”, witnesses say he was drinking and smoking marijuana the entire drive, prior to the shooting.

Both of the other passengers told Police that they knew Carter George had 3 firearms with him. They admitted to having knowledge of possibly 2 BB pistols as well as at least 1 real firearm, a KelTec 9MM.

The passengers recall that while they were driving, they observed Carter George, who was sitting directly behind the victim, handling a firearm. Shortly after, they heard a gunshot. That is when the victim pulled the truck over, opened the driver side door, and fell out. Carter George told the victim he was sorry before running off. Detectives say that Carter George then hid the firearm in nearby bushes where it was later located by a K9 search. Carter George then returned to the scene.

Carter has been charged with the following:

  • 782.07 MANSLAUGHTER WHILE IN POSSESSION OF WEAPON
  • 790.23(1BD3) DELINQUENT IN POSSESSION OF WEAPON/FIREARM/AMMUNITION

Brinkle was wanting drugs also?….Nathan Brinkle is not alive to tell the real story….. whatever it is …..it cost that young man his life…..the bothers statement reads of fear…..God will correct this…..there will be justice thru God. the whole truth…..to stop this George should spend the rest of his life behind bars….after all, Nathan Brinkle’s life is over, not graduating from school, no college, no marriage, no holding his firstborn, it’s over man,,,,,shouldn’t George have the same fate…..all over stupid drugs and guns….wow thinK about this,, George with guns, drugs, killing someone, reads like a low life punk movie….time to make punishment real….this would slow down these horror life sickening stories that ruin lives FOREVER..all written is my opinion

  4. There were no drugs or alcohol in Nathan’s system or his brothers. Nathan had never been in trouble with the law, been to rehab or anything else. He was an A student and former honorable military cadet. Nathan was giving them a riide and dropping them off. He knew Carter was trouble and had been trying to help him, including working with his Mom to get him into a school that would help Carter. Nathan was always helping others and this article makes it sound like he was involved in something wrong. He wasn’t. He died like he lived, helping others. Carter was charged as an adult. LLN
