FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) — Fort Lauderdale Police Department is calling the first shift of it’s new Community Violence Reduction Unit a success with a felony arrest which lead to guns, drugs, money, and a career criminal off of the street on Wednesday, January 12th, 2022.

Qwajai St Fort, 21, was the first suspect to be arrested by the department’s new Community Violence Reduction Unit.

While many details of the case are still unavailable, the department has shared that the arrest is the result of a routine traffic stop. CVRU officers were able to find felony amounts of cannabis, Oxycodone, and other narcotics. Officers of the new unit were also seized an ‘AR style pistol’ and ammo.

St Fort, the driver was arrested and is currently in the BSO jail facing the following charges:

  • POSSESS W/INTENT SELL MANUF DELIVER CANNABIS
  • POSSESSION OF CODEINE
  • CARRYING CONCEALED FIREARM
  • ARMED TRAFFICK IN OXYCODONE 14 LESS 25 GRAMS

St Fort also received a traffic violation for illegal tint which was most likely the cause for the traffic stop as it is a primary traffic offense in Florida.
