FAU Student Arrested For Terrorism And Threats Of Murder

FBI Discovers Student Sends Messages On Yik Yak About Being A Serial Killer On FAU Campus

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — FAU Police arrest a student after receiving reports from the FBI that a student has made comments on social media about being a serial killer on campus and that no one could stop him.

There’s going to be a serial killer on campus and the confession will be made here and I can’t not stopped not by the school police the feds. But wgo should I start with.

Kijafa Battle, 19, originally from Columbus, OH, a student at FAU who lives on campus in Boca Raton, has been arrested by FAU Police for making threats on popular social media app Yik Yak. The Yik Yak application is known for allowing you to send anonymous messages to people within a 5-mile radius of you.

The FBI contacted FAU Police on February 13th, 2022, and provided them with the phone number which was linked to the message. FAU Police found the phone number registered to be that of Kijafa Battle.

A review of Kijafa Battle’s social media accounts shows that he compares former President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler:

FAU Police detectives then went to Heritage Park South Tower where Kijafa Battle lives and picked him up for questioning. Kijafa Battle admitted to police that he sent the message while sitting alone in his dorm room. Kijafa Battle claimed that he sent the message as a joke and just wanted to see how people would react to it.

Kijafa Battle also admitted to thinking about killing people in the past but said that he has never killed anyone.

Kijafa Battle was arrested on Sunday (2/13/22) and released on Tuesday (2/15/22) with a $25,000 bond. Kijafa Battle is now facing the following charges:

  • 836.10(2A) SEND WRITTEN THREATS TO KILL
  • 775.30(2) COERCE THE POLICY OF GOVT CRIME OF TERRORISM

In another court action, FAU Police filed a petition for temporary ex parte risk protection order which was approved. This protective order was placed most likely because a judge believes that Kijafa Battle poses a significant danger to himself or others.

FAU ARRESTS: This is the 3rd report Boca Post has made of an FAU student being arrested this week.
