FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) — A Ex-Lion Country Safari Zookeeper Sentenced 70 Months On Child Pornography Charges After Being Caught Using BitTorrent To Download And Distribute Child Pornography Material.

Back in August of 2020, an FBI investigation led to the arrest of 31-year-old Justin Alban. According to the probable cause affidavit submitted by the FBI, a sealed federal search warrant directed law enforcement to search Alban’s West Palm Beach residence on Canon way.

According to the criminal complaint, Alban’s computer was running BitTorrent, a popular peer-to-peer torrent software, which was sharing pornographic material including of what FBI agents say is child porn. We won’t go into the disgusting details of what was being downloaded and distributed.

When interviewed by the FBI, Alban admitted that he used BitTorrent to download child pornographic material. Alban further stated that he was aware BitTorrent was automatically sharing any content that was downloaded. Alban stated that he was the only one who used the computer identified in the criminal complaint.

Investigators submitted the probable cause requesting that Alban be charged with distributing child pornography. The charges ended up being reduced in a plea deal where Alban plead guilty to only one count of possession of child pornography.

It is reported that Justin Alban was employed as a zookeeper at Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, FL at the time of his arrest in August of 2020.
