DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — A Delray Beach woman has been charged with theft, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

A 75-year-old woman from Kings Point has been arrested Wednesday evening by the Delray Beach Police Department. Boca Post has been notified that the charges filed include “LARC – OTHER THEFT.”

According to a police report obtained by Boca Post, the suspect took her crime outside of the walls of Kings Point. The suspect was arrested by Delray Beach PD after being caught shoplifting by Loss Prevention personnel at Home Depot located at 1400 Waterford Pl in Delray Beach.

According to the report, another man, later identified as 60-year-old Jonathon Duke, was observed removing the security tags from a Ryobi One+ Drill and a Ryobi One+ High-Performance Battery, totaling $308.00. Shortly after, the suspect is observed selecting the exact same units and placing them into her purse. Both then left the store without paying for the merchandise where they were then stopped by Home Depot’s Loss Prevention personnel.

Delray Beach Police arrived shortly after the apprehension; however, the suspect refused to talk without a lawyer present. The suspect did utter several times that she was going to pay for the drill but no employees were around to help her.
