BSO Service Aide Chantalle Civil Arrested

POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — The Broward Sheriff’s Office Pompano Beach District deputies apprehended a BSO community service assistant on Monday for charges related to grand theft and fraudulent acquisition of property.

As per the investigation, staff at a 7 11 store situated at 2391 North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach observed an unusual surge in the sale of lottery tickets between late April and late May. After an internal audit at the store, it was uncovered that 7-11 employee Chantalle Civil printed $65,000 worth of lottery tickets without making any payments. Detectives mentioned that Civil carried out these transactions while using her assigned cash register during work hours and even visited the store on her days off to manipulate the lottery terminal for committing these offenses. The investigation is currently ongoing.

Apart from her role at 7-11, Civil also serves as a community service aide within BSO and is currently positioned at BSO’s Oakland Park District.

Following her arrest, Civil has been placed on unpaid administrative leave. She joined BSO’s team in August 2002.
