BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — A 17-year-old Boynton Beach teen was shot and killed Sunday morning after stepping into a heated argument outside a residence in the 500 block of Northwest 9th Avenue, police said.

Boynton Beach Police were called to the area around 9:15 a.m. after receiving reports that a juvenile had been shot. Officers arrived to find Josiah Jones, 17, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

According to investigators, the incident began as a verbal argument between one of Jones’ relatives and Trenton Robinson, 24, of Georgia. The dispute escalated as the two continued arguing outside the home.

Police say Jones attempted to intervene and separate the two individuals as tensions rose. During the confrontation, Robinson pulled a handgun from his pocket and fired a single round, striking Jones in the abdomen.

Witnesses at the scene told officers that Robinson did not flee after the shooting. He remained in the immediate area as first responders arrived.

Boynton Beach Fire Rescue transported Jones to Delray Medical Center as a trauma alert. Despite emergency medical treatment, he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Robinson was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators recovered a firearm during the investigation, police said.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree murder with a firearm. Jail records show Robinson is being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No additional suspects are being sought at this time.
