Roscoe Shannon Arrested, Charged With Vehicular Homicide, Reckless Driving

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Roscoe Shannon of Boynton Beach was arrested for manslaughter following a deadly Deerfield Beach crash that killed a motorcyclist in May.

Shannon was arrested for his actions, investigators say, contributed to the death of a motorcyclist in a fatal Deerfield Beach car accident just after 7 AM on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023.

According to BSO traffic homicide investigators, Shannon was driving recklessly which led to a violent crash that killed a motorcyclist near the 100 block of North Powerline Road in Deerfield Beach. Investigators say Shannon failed to control his vehicle before he exited the northbound lane and entered the southbound lane, striking the motorcyclist.

BSO Fire Rescue pronounced the motorcyclist deceased at the scene.

Shannon has since been arrested on one count of vehicular homicide, and two counts of reckless driving causing property damage.

  1. This man was arrested and charged after just a few months after his collision causing a motorcyclist death. No DUI charge. However, the attorney in Boca Raton with a DUI manslaughter charge took a year for the arrest. The attorney is white and the other man is black.
