BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A Boca Raton woman has been arrested for battery on a person 65 years of age or older, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Erika Eliana Quintero Pava, 48, who lives with her 74-year-old boyfriend in a penthouse suite at the Palmetto Place Condominiums in Boca Raton, was arrested Wednesday evening by the Boca Raton Police Department. Erika Eliana Quintero Pava was charged with “784.08(2C) BATTERY ON PERSON 65 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER (DOMESTIC)”.

The following is a redacted copy of the narrative from the official police report submitted by the Boca Raton Police Department:

“On 6/22/2022, I was dispatched to [Palmetto Place Condominiums] about a domestic disturbance. Upon my arrival, I contacted the complainant, later identified as Laura Almasan, who stated that on today’s date, while at the valet parking lot of the building at approximately 1945 hours, she observed the offender, later identified as Erika Quintero, punching the window of the vehicle where the victim was inside off. Almasan stated that she then observed the victim getting out of the vehicle and Quintero yelling and screaming at the victim. Almasan stated that at one point, she observed Quintero Slapping the victim’s right hand. Almasan said she then went inside the lobby to get help to calm the situation.”

“I then responded to the lobby area, where I gathered all the information from the parties involved and responded to the <victim’s penthouse suite>.”

“The victim stated that while inside his vehicle while searching the internet on his cellphone, he was surprised by Quintero punching the driver’s window. The victim stated that he got out of the vehicle, and Quintero started yelling at him. Upon asking the victim if Quintero ever became physical with him, he said he would rather not say because he did not want to get her in trouble. The victim was checked but did not appear to have any injuries.”

“I then contacted Quintero, who stated that on today’s date, while coming back from the Zumba class, she observed the victim in the parking lot of the building inside of his vehicle. Quintero then stated that upon getting close to the vehicle, she observed the victim watching p*rn  on his cellphone. Quintero stated that she became upset and started punching the vehicle’s window and demanding the victim open the door. Quintero said that once the door was open, she shoved the victim’s arms, grabbed the cellphone from his hands, and asked the victim…”

“The defendant was placed into handcuffs, which were double-locked, and seated in the rear compartment of my marked patrol vehicle. From the scene, the defendant was transported to the Boca Raton Police Department for booking procedures, where she was later transported to the Palm Beach County Jail.”

“Based on the sworn statements provided probable cause exists to charge Erika Quintero with (1) count of Domestic felony Battery, pursuant to F.S.S. 784.08(1) (2c).”

Erika Eliana Quintero Pava was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 10:34 on Wednesday evening. Erika Eliana Quintero Pava missed her first appearance this morning as she was said to be “medically unable to attend court”. The 74-year-old victim was present.
