MARION COUNTY, FL (BocaPost.com) (Copyright © 2021 The Boca Post) — A Boca Raton man is is facing 8 charges including 2 DUI manslaughter charges after a fatal crash Wednesday at 1am in Marion County, FL.

Logan Wier, a 32 year old man from Boca Raton, is now facing 2 counts of DUI manslaughter, 2 counts of DUI serious bodily injury, and 4 counts of DUI property damage from the accident on accident that occurred early Wednesday morning.

A van with 6 occupants, a family from Miami, was traveling north on US-441 near Ocala when Wier’s truck approached and hit the family’s vehicle from the rear causing both of them to rotate off the road. The van then rolled and partially split in to two pieces, causing four of the passengers to be ejected, killing two of them.

The driver and the other 3 passengers were rushed to an area hospital. The injured passengers include a 10 month old girl with critical injuries and a 26 year old woman who is also badly injured. The other two suffered minor injuries according to FHP. It is reported that the baby has fractures to her face.

The family was traveling to North Carolina to spend Thanksgiving with a cousin. This large family is understandably devastated.

“Enjoy your family. Enjoy who you have. Life ends in a blink of an eye,” said cousin Gleny Andrade.

Adriana is described as fun-loving and forgiving. Heidy is remembered as being soft-spoken and kind.

“My daughter loves her so much – both of them,” said daughter-in-law Lucy Martinez. “And I can’t imagine them not being around anymore.”
