BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — Willy Polanco of Boca Raton has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Willy Polanco, 29, of the 800 block of Broken Sound Parkway in Boca Raton, has been arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol. Boca Post has been notified that the charge filed is DUI.

According to the arrest affidavit submitted by FHP, troopers responded to a crash on I-95 northbound near Atlantic ave in Delray Beach. Troopers found that Polanco had crashed a Chevrolet Colorado into an SUV. Troopers finished the crash investigation, finding Polanco completely at fault, and then moved on to a DUI investigation due to Polanco’s red eyes, dilated pupils, and slow movements. Troopers also say that Polanco fell asleep in the truck while talking to them.

Troopers did a series of field sobriety tests and then arrested Polanco for DUI. Polanco blew a 0.00 at the jail, meaning he was not under the influence of alcohol. Troopers then requested a urine sample as they suspected Polanco may be under the influence of drugs.

Polanco was arrested less than two weeks ago by the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department for DUI as well as several drug charges, including the possession of Fentanyl. On that evening, officers found Polanco asleep at the wheel at the busy intersection of Military Trail and Palm Beach Gardens Boulevard.

Polanco was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 7:08 on Monday evening. Polanco was released from jail after posting a $5,000 bond. Polanco later pleads not guilty to the DUI charge.
