Steven Eidelkind Arrested

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2021) — A Boynton Beach father is facing felonious theft charges this week after he allegedly stole from his children’s college savings accounts.

Steven Eidelkind, who lives on Morgan Landing Way in Boynton Beach, has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $80,000 from his children’s college saving accounts during his divorce. From a period between October 8th and December 29th of 2019 Eidelkind made several withdrawals from his children’s college savings accounts violating a ‘freeze’ that was placed due to the divorce proceedings between him and his ex-wife.

According to an arrest affidavit by Boynton Beach Police Department, Eidelkind admitted to making the withdrawals during a hearing conducted by his ex-wife’s attorney. When asked if he requested the withdrawal in the amount of $41,226.00 on October 8th, 2019 Eidelkind said that while he didn’t remember the exact amount he admitted that it did occur.

Eidelkind was then asked if he performed a withdrawal in the amount of $22,819.44 from another account on November 4th, 2019 to which he said “Yes”. He was asked about another withdrawal in the amount of $10,415.83 on November 13th, 2019 where he again said “Yes”. He then confirmed he conducted another withdrawal in the amount of $11,730 on December 29th, 2019. He then confirmed that he transferred the funds from those college savings accounts to his personal savings account at TD bank.

Boynton Beach Police Department state in their report that the money is located in Eidelkind’s accounts. Eidelkind was arrested on November 10th and booked in to the Palm Beach County Jail for the felony theft. He was released on a $5,000 bond a few hours late that same day.
