FLORIDA — A Florida Purple Alert has been issued for a missing woman from Brooksville, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE said the alert is for Elizabeth Fielding, 60, last known to be in the Brooksville area in Hernando County.

FDLE’s flyer lists Fielding as a white female with white hair and hazel eyes. She is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds.

The alert puts the case into a statewide system used by law enforcement to help locate missing people and push information out quickly. For South Florida readers, it matters because these alerts can move across county lines fast, and tips can come from anywhere, not just the last known area.

Authority for the investigation and follow-up sits with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office at 352-754-6830 or call 911.

Residents should watch for updates from FDLE and the sheriff’s office, and report information directly to law enforcement using the numbers provided.
