FLORIDA — A Florida Purple Alert has been issued for a missing man last known to be in Plant City, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE said the alert is for Angel Calderon Liriano, 36, who is missing from Plant City in Hillsborough County. The agency’s flyer lists him as male, White-Hispanic, with black hair and brown eyes. He is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 175 pounds.

The last known area provided in the alert is Plant City. No additional details about when he was last seen or what he was wearing were included in the FDLE information.

For residents in South Florida, the practical takeaway is simple. These alerts are meant to widen the net quickly, and they can travel beyond the county where the person was last seen. People who live and work across the region may see the alert shared online or through law enforcement channels, and tips from outside the immediate area can still matter.

Authority for the investigation and tip intake sits with the Plant City Police Department. FDLE is distributing the statewide Purple Alert.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Plant City Police Department at (813)757-9200 or call 911.

The FDLE flyer remains posted through the state’s Missing Persons Information Clearinghouse. Updates, if any, would come through FDLE or the Plant City Police Department.
