2-year-old Killed in West Park Crash; BSO Traffic Homicide Investigating

BSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal traffic crash in West Park that killed a 2-year-old boy Monday afternoon.

BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to a fatal traffic crash reported in the 100 block of Allen Road in West Park on Monday, July 6.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL — BSO is investigating a fatal traffic crash reported Monday afternoon in West Park.

Just after 2 p.m. on Monday, July 6, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a traffic crash with injuries in the 100 block of Allen Road, according to the BSO Public Information Office.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. On scene, deputies located a 2-year-old male suffering from injuries after being struck by a vehicle, BSO said.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

Paramedics transported the child to Memorial Regional Hospital. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital, BSO said.

BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are actively investigating the incident.

BSO has not released additional details about what led up to the crash. Residents who were in the area of the 100 block of Allen Road around the time of the incident may see an ongoing law enforcement presence tied to the investigation.

The investigation is being handled by BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit. Updates are expected through the BSO Public Information Office as more information is confirmed.
