Today's Weather - Monday, June 15, 2026
BOCA RATON, FL — Expect a hot, humid start that turns stormier late in the day. Highs reach around 91, but it will feel closer to 103 to 105 during the late morning and early afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are likely mainly after 3 p.m., and a few could dump heavy rain in a short time. Storms should fade early this evening, with a warmer, mostly quiet night near 78–79
South Florida’s weather pattern shifts a bit today, and that matters for Boca Raton. The National Weather Service notes high pressure is setting up over the western Atlantic while a larger-scale dip in the jet stream over the eastern U.S.
helps keep a front stalled well to our north. For us, that combination changes the wind direction compared to recent days: instead of a steady ocean breeze, winds turn more southerly near the ground, with a west-to-east push higher up.
That setup tends to steer the day’s storm focus toward the east coast metro areas, including Boca Raton, especially from mid-afternoon into early evening. The atmosphere is also loaded with moisture (the AFD highlights very high moisture values), so when storms form they can rain hard quickly.
With storms moving slowly at times, localized street flooding is possible in poor-drainage spots and typical urban trouble areas. Heat is the other headline.
For the Boca Raton area waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), winds run southwest around 10 knots this morning, turning more southerly later today. Seas stay low—generally 2 feet or less—with a light chop on the Intracoastal.
The main marine concern is thunderstorms later today and again at times this week. Any storm can briefly kick up locally hazardous winds and choppy seas, along with frequent lightning and sudden visibility drops in heavy rain.
Boaters should plan to be in port or near safe harbor by mid-afternoon and keep an eye on the western sky as storms build inland and drift toward the coast.
