LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — An e-scooter rider died days after a crash involving a parked pickup truck on South K Street in Lake Worth Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened at about 6:40 p.m. on May 7, 2026, near 1115 South K Street, according to a PBSO Traffic Division fatal crash report.
The rider was identified in the report as Melissa Kaye Kelly, 49, of Lake Worth Beach.
Investigators said a 2015 Chevy Silverado was parked facing south on the west side of South K Street. Kelly was riding a Caroma e-scooter south on South K Street when she failed to observe the parked truck, according to the crash narrative.
Kelly was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with multiple injuries. PBSO said she died on May 15, 2026, at 1:55 p.m.
The Silverado was listed as unoccupied and parked. No injuries were listed for the parked vehicle entry.
The crash remains a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division case. No additional investigative details were included in the provided report.
