CORAL SPRINGS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A homicide investigation is underway in Coral Springs after an adult man was found dead from gunshot wounds Wednesday morning in the area of Riverside Drive and Royal Palm Boulevard.
The shooting call brought Coral Springs Police officers to the 2500-block of Riverside Drive. When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation remained active as of the department’s 10:55 a.m. update.
Police said there was no threat to the community and that all lanes of travel had reopened on Riverside Drive. Earlier in the morning, police asked drivers and residents to avoid the area while officers worked the scene.
The police activity also affected Somerset Academy, which was closed for the day. The school closure was announced in an 8:25 a.m. update as the investigation continued nearby.
A media staging area was established on the southwest corner of Riverside Drive and Northwest 24th Street, placing reporters away from the active scene while police continued their work in the area.
The location is a busy part of Coral Springs, near residential areas, schools and local traffic routes. Riverside Drive remained a focus of the investigation through the morning before police announced that travel lanes were open.
