BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton will be mostly sunny and breezy today, with a high near 77 and only a slight chance of a quick shower late this morning. Northeast winds will run 14–16 mph with gusts up to around 24 mph, making it feel cooler along the beach. Tonight stays partly cloudy and breezy with lows near 70. The main impacts today are at the coast: dangerous rip currents and rough surf, plus hazardous conditions for small boats offshore
South Florida is settling into a steady, “stuck” weather pattern this weekend, and that’s why Boca Raton’s forecast looks simple but still comes with important beach and boating hazards. The National Weather Service says a strong area of high pressure is parked over the Southeast U.S., centered near the Carolinas and stretching toward the Florida Panhandle.
At the same time, the atmosphere aloft is building into a ridge (a pattern that favors sinking air). Put together, that setup keeps storm systems and fronts away from us and helps limit cloud growth.
For Boca Raton, the result is mostly dry weather with plenty of sun. Moisture levels are running low for April, which is why rain chances are minimal.
Still, the onshore breeze can push in a few fast-moving coastal showers, mainly late this morning, but most neighborhoods will stay rain-free. Winds are the bigger day-to-day story.
Boaters and beachgoers should plan around hazardous Atlantic conditions. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for the coastal waters off Palm Beach County, including the Boca Raton area.
Expect northeast to east winds around 15–25 knots through the weekend, with frequent higher gusts, and seas generally 4–7 feet with occasional sets up to 8–9 feet offshore. Even the Intracoastal can turn choppy to rough in exposed areas.
Along the beach, the persistent onshore flow supports a high rip current risk and rough surf, so swimming is discouraged outside guarded areas.
