HOLLYWOOD, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — BSO arrested two men suspected of the shooting death of a mother and her 4-year-old daughter on the Turnpike.

Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit teamed up with BSOs V.I.P.E.R (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) investigators to apprehend Antoine Harris and Jaquan Thomas for the killings of Beatrice Saintvil and her four-year-old daughter Janelle Souffrant on the Florida Turnpike back in June.

Throughout the investigation over several months by BSO homicide detectives Harris and Thomas were pinpointed as the individuals behind the tragic shooting incident that occurred On Wednesday 18th December when investigators secured a warrant, for their apprehension.

On Friday the 20th of December in Miami Gardens investigators from BSO V.I.P.E.R successfully. Apprehended Harris. Harris will soon be transferred to Broward County for proceedings. Meanwhile Thomas is currently in custody in Georgia for offenses and will also be brought back, to Broward County.

At around 11​ o’clock at night on Friday June 7th Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) mentioned that they were called to a situation regarding a shooting on Florida Turnpike heading north close, to Mile Marker 49 below Hollywood Boulevard. Initial findings suggest that this incident happened at 11:14 p.m.

During the incident on site FHP troopers found Saintvil and her daughter wounded by gunshots, inside a vehicle parked in the breakdown lane. Hollywood Fire Rescue arrived at the scene. Took Saintvil to a nearby hospital where unfortunately she passed away later. Sadly her daughter was declared dead at the scene.

FHP requested that BSO homicide detectives handle the investigation.

In June of year the reward, for providing information that could help solve the tragic case of a mother and childs double murder was raised to $20 000 An additional $10 000 was pledged by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATM).

Both Harris and Thomas are charged with two counts of first degree murder. Will be taken to BSOs Main Jail after they are brought back from, out of state.
