Detectives are currently looking for the driver who collided with a bicyclist, offered help and then left the scene without providing further assistance. The incident occurred on Friday, May 31st, around 9 p.m. In Fort Lauderdale’s 4500 block of South Federal Highway. The victim, identified as Magarita Lopez, was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention following the crash involving a silver SUV. Witnesses reported that after hitting Lopez in the tunnel while she was cycling southbound, the driver initially stopped to assist her before leaving the scene. If anyone has information about the driver or vehicle involved in this hit and run incident, they are encouraged to report it through the SaferWatch app or contact Broward Crime Stoppers anonymously at 954 493 TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
