Virgilita Jackson Passed Away

DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A 40-year-old Boynton Beach woman died after crashing into another vehicle in Delray Beach on a very rainy Wednesday evening.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Virgilita Jackson, 40. of Boynton Beach, was driving eastbound on Lake Ida Road negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway in inclement weather. At the same time, another vehicle was westbound on Lake Ida Road beginning to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway in inclement weather.

Investigators say that Jackson lost traction while steering to the left and her vehicle began to rotate counter-clockwise as the vehicle entered the westbound travel lane. Another driver, who was heading westbound, observed Jackson’s Hyundai Elantra enter the westbound travel lane but was unable to avoid a collision.

The other driver and passenger sustained non-incapacitating injuries and arranged for their own transport for medical evaluation. Jackson was pronounced deceased on the scene.
