HOLLYWOOD, FL (Boca Post) — A security guard who was responsible for protecting life and property in a Hollywood Publix has been charged with manslaughter after a shooting that occurred at the Publix supermarket on 6/10/22.

According to the Hollywood Police Department, on Friday, June 10th, 2022, at approximately 10:04 P.M., officers of the Hollywood Police Department responded to the Publix located at 1740 Polk Street in reference to a 911 call regarding a security guard that shot an individual. Upon arrival, officers located the victim and immediately rendered first aid.

Hollywood Fire Rescue transported the victim to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The investigation revealed the victim and security guard were involved in a physical altercation prior to the shooting. The security guard, Andre Grey, is cooperating with detectives.

An Arrest Warrant for one count of manslaughter with a firearm was issued for Andre Grey’s arrest. On Saturday, June 18 th, 2022, Andre Grey turned himself in at the Broward County Main Jail.

Grey has been charged with 1 count of manslaughter with a firearm.
